Book: HTML & CSS, design and build websites

Two weeks ago, I received a copy of the book HTML & CSS, design and build websites. I didn’t have the time to read it yet, but at the first look it seems to be the most beautiful book I saw on this topic: really nice design and graphics. Hey, why technical book needs to be visually boring?

Thanks to Jon Duckett, the author, for the free copy

  1. You’re suppose to use a cell phone and make a duck face when doing these pictures. Also, flipping the image may have helped as well. :-D

Great book though! I purchased a box of 10 to give out at the HTML5 Toronto group events. I don’t generally like dev books because as soon as ink hits paper, it’s out of date but this one has great content that is like a glossary for web technologies. Beautiful shelf piece and amazing to have.

    • I don’t want to be like everybody else :)

I’m with you, I hear a lot of great things about it, but I’m a bit shy to say that I didn’t read it yet, as I just found it again (was in boxes from my moving, and renovation in the condo that took way too long). If you think technical books are outdated when they are printed, you should wait for a French translation… just got my COBOL book :)
